Somerton Hotel reopens it’s doors after lockdown

The recent unlocking of Covid Lockdown has heralded a swinging open of  Somerton Hotel doors for patrons who can look forward to even more  incentives to visit the popular watering hole.

Patrons can now become members of the pub, and for an annual $25 fee,  can receive five per cent discount on meals, and if there happens to be  another price rise in beer, members can enjoy their ale at the old  price, according to manager Annette Mackley.

“We’ll also have a badge draw every Tuesday night. Members have to be  present to claim the prize, but if the prize is unclaimed, it will  increase by $20 each week until it is claimed. Also starting on Tuesday

nightsis the $15.50 members’ meal special of a kilo of wings and a  beer. Thursday night we have our Pool and Pizza night,” Annette said.

Last Saturday night’s Footy Tipping Presentation wound up the 2021  tipping season. Coming up trumps was Adam Daly who took the title from  Murray Chaplin with Anthony Cummins collecting third place money.

Another item for the calendar is the Markets, Music and Brekky morning  on Sunday, October 3.

“We’re trying to get a Sunday Brekky happening, so this could be a good  feeler for that. Anyone who would like to sell itemscan contact us on  0447 115984. Cost is $10 per stall,” Annette said.

“We also have a new char grill which should prove popular with patons.

And we’re hoping to extend the kitchen further so we can put all the  refrigeration items in another area. That way everything will work more  efficiently.”

Then further down the track in November is the proposed Tractor Pull,  but more on that later, according to the hotel manager.
