While newcomer to Attunga Nataline Bugeja isn’t making her clients look pristine in her home hairdressing salon, she’s pulling on jeans and work boots for a rip around the paddocks with the tractor and slasher.
Nataline, who moved into the 440-acre family property on the outskirts of Attunga with husband Tony and daughters Sienna (15) and Isabella (12) late last year, can boast 27 years’ experience sprucing up male and female clients of all ages. She does that Monday to Friday from her home salon, but on the weekends or when she doesn’t have a client, Nataline can be seen either slashing one of the paddocks or helping hubby with the cattle.
“I love the country life. We were living at Hawkesbury and owned a smaller property at Mudgee, but wanted something bigger. We had friends around here, liked what we saw, so sold up and moved in late last year,” she said.
“It’s pretty full on here, so I like to learn as much about farmwork as I can so that I could carry it on if ever I need to. I help a lot with the cattle, and am trying to learn as much as I can about agronomy.”
Nataline’s ‘Hair By Sunrise’ can offer clients a big range of treatmentsincluding hair styles, colours, foils, cuts for both men, women and children and Keratin straightening.
“I’ve received a lot of new clients since coming here, and particularly a lot of older gentlemen.”
But manoeuvringa tractor or the scissors isn’t all Nataline puts her heart into.
“I’ve also created my own rabbit and guinea pig treat food lines. I will groom bunnies or guinea pigs, and I’d really love that side of my business to take off as well. I have some continuous clients who come here all the time for shaving and grooming of their bunnies. I love my gardening, and Attunga is a lovely area. Everyone is so friendly – it’s very different the city and country – I love everything about it.”
