Five Men escape serious injury in truck accident

Manilla emergency services (police, ambulance, Rural Fire Service and Fire & Rescue) were called to a truck accident on Thursdsay night (26th August) around eight klms south of Manilla on the Tamworth Road.
The alarm was raised around 11.15pm and emergency services were quickly on the scene.
Upon arrival emergency services found that a dual cab truck carrying a large forklift had rolled over off the roadway coming to rest on its side. In the roll over the forklift came to rest on its side in the middle of the road.
Five men who were travelling in the truck were able to free themselves and awaited to arrival of emergency services.
The accident completely blocked both lanes of traffic for around an hour before one lane was re-opened briefly then closed again while the recovery operation was undertaken and the area made safe.
The men were checked over by paramedics and two were conveyed to Tamworth Hospital by ambulance for treatment to minor injuries. The other three men were shaken but otherwise OK.
Police and paramedics from Tamworth also assisted at the scene.

Part of roadway was severely damaged in the accident and was repaired by Tamworth Regional Council workers on Friday morning.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by police.
