MANILLA CENTRAL ONE OF THREE LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS WITH CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY FOR COOLER CLASSROOMS

Students and teachers at three local schools will have a much cooler learning environment thanks to the NSW government.

Attunga Public School, Currabubula Public School and Manilla Central will now benefit from brand new air ventilation systems in classrooms and libraries with construction now underway for the delivery of its new system.

Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson, welcomed the news that the Cooler Classrooms Program and the local schools will soon be delivered.

“It’s so important that our kids can learn in a more comfortable environment. That’s why I’m so happy to see these new air ventilation systems being installed!” Mr Anderson Said.

“I look forward to seeing the kids at these school reap the benefits of a comfortable classroom or library.”

Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said the projects at these schools were part of the NSW Government’s $500 million five-year Cooler Classrooms Program.

“I’m pleased that construction for the Cooler Classrooms Program is now underway in this electorate,” Ms Mitchell said.

“The program is continuing to provide optimal teaching and learning environments for students and teachers in public schools across NSW.”

As well as cooling, the systems deliver fresh outside air, incorporate smart controls to ensure they operate efficiently, and where feasible, will be solar powered to reduce the financial and environmental impact of running the system.

The NSW Government is investing $6.7 billion over four years to deliver more than 190 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW
