Church Service held in honour of the Queen

By Hannah Lane

On Thursday 22 September a memorial service was held for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, at Holy Trinity Church in the Manilla Anglican Parish.

Community members from Manilla and the surrounding region gathered to remember the grace and service of the late Queen, and to celebrate her life and the faith she professed in the Lord Jesus Christ in many of her Christmas broadcasts:

For me, the life of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, whose birth we celebrate today, is an inspiration and an anchor in my life. A role-model of reconciliation and forgiveness, he stretched out his hands in love, acceptance and healing.”

The moving service contained readings and hymns from the official funeral service, and those present signed the condolence book at the conclusion.

The condolence book, and copies of the service sheet, are now available to members of the public at the TRC office/library on Manilla Street.
