Charity Bike Ride Huge Success

The Charity Bike Ride was a huge success for the Shitbox Rally Team, “Off THE Clock”. The rally team, Dan Etheridge and Phil Denyer are raising money for the Cancer Council of NSW in a rally in 2023. Leading up there are lots of fundraising activities.  Last weekend there was a Bike Ride and a social gathering at Barraba’s Commercial Hotel.

Ally Denyer reports the $1 table raffles, bike entries and the major raffles combined to raise over $3,300. The major raffle winners were: 1st Nicole Gillogly – BBQ, 2nd Mia Faulkner – Whipper Snipper, and 3rd Carole Lewis – Esky.

There were almost 30 riders between the dirt bikes and the road bikes. Both rider groups called into the Upper Horton Sports Club for morning tea before heading back to town to the pub for lunch and live music. Ally said, “Everybody commented on how great the food was – the kitchen at the Commercial Hotel did a brilliant job.”

“The real highlight was music by Adam Mills and Nic Baker – the Inverell lads had everybody enjoying themselves singing and dancing and having a fabulous time and enjoying the atmosphere,” said Ally.

“Phil and Dan would like to thank John and Gayle Molly for accommodating the event at the pub and to all those who attended the ride and/or afternoon at the pub. The show of support has blown the team away,” says Ally.

The next event is a Charity Golf day on Sunday 4 December.
