On the recent June long weekend the NSW Rugby country Championship took place in Tamworth. There were five representatives from the Barraba/Bingara Ramrats. Alex Abra, Liam Mack and Mitch Mack played in the men’s side and Amie Middlemiss and Brianna Mack played for the women’s side.
Saturday saw the women play Hunter, going down 34-5. The men then played Western Plains and lost after a try was scored with seconds left with a final score of 25-27. Sunday saw the women’s side play Mid North Coast, going down 12-5 in a very tight game with their final game played against Central Coast winning 17-10 meaning they finished fourth overall. The men’s side played their final game against New England and came away with a win, 26-14, putting them in third place at the end of the Championship.
